Around 10:50 on Saturday morning, an explosion at a three-story building in the capital’s Science Lab left three people dead and thirteen others hurt. Afterward, the building caught fire, and the blast caused a section of the wall to collapse.
Tushar, Abdul Mannan, and Shafiquzzaman were named among the deceased. The three were transported to Popular Hospital with serious injuries and later pronounced dead by the doctors, said police.
Four firefighting units responded to a call for help and arrived on the scene to put out the fire at 11:13 am. According to the DMCH police, six of the injured were admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) and seven to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
