Four members of the same family died after a landslide in Ramu, Cox’s Bazar. The incident occurred in Lot Ukhiyaghona area of Ramu Upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased are Azizur Rahman (50), his wife, Rahima Begum (45), mother-in-law Dil Faraz Begum (70), and Nasima Begum (25).
The mountain suddenly collapsed while the family was eating at night. They died on the spot, falling to the ground, locals said.
We came to know that soil was being cut from the hill for some brick kilns built on the side of the hill. Due to this, the mountain was in a hazardous condition which can cause landslides.
Ramu police confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the police of Ramu police station went to the spot and recovered the bodies with the help of the fire service.
