Metropolis Desk-

At least 46 people were murdered and over 100 were injured in the suicide attack on a political convention of a hardline party, according to police in Pakistan’s unrest-ridden Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, who added that preliminary evidence suggests that the banned terrorist organization ISIS is responsible.

In the bordering Afghan town of Khar, where more than 400 members of the Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) party had gathered for a gathering beneath a canopy on Sunday, the attack took place.

“We are still looking into the Bajaur blast and gathering data. According to police officials published by Geo News, the initial investigation revealed that the banned organization Daesh (ISIS) was involved.

A suicide bomber detonated explosives during the protest in the former tribal territory, according to the report, resulting in at least 46 fatalities and over 100 injuries.

Police reported that eight unidentified bodies were still lying at the hospital while a total of 38 dead bodies had been delivered to relatives. According to the police, the bomb disposal squad team was gathering evidence on the scene while they were interviewing the suicide bomber’s details.

There are three suspects in detention, according to District Police Officer Nazir Khan.

10 kg of explosives detonated by a suicide bomber were used in the explosion, according to provincial police chief Akhtar Hayat Khan. He claimed that the bomber was one of the convention goers sitting in the front rows.

The perpetrator, according to local authorities, set off explosives close to the convention’s stage.

The JUI-F District Amir Maulana Abdul Rasheed entered the platform just before the explosion took place, according to the police and witnesses.

Maulana Ziaullah Jan of JUI-F Tehsil Khar, Maulana Hameedullah of Navagai Tehsil, Mujahid Khan of the district’s information office, and numerous other party members were among the victims.

Riaz Anwar, the interim health minister for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reported on Sunday night that the attack claimed the lives of 44 people while injuring more than 100 others.

In the hospitals in Bajaur and the surrounding districts, where the majority of the injured were sent, an emergency has been declared. Military helicopters have flown the seriously injured from Bajaur to hospitals in Peshawar, the province capital.

More than 150 injured patients have been transported to the Bajaur District Headquarters Hospital, according to Bajaur District Health Officer Dr. Faisal Kamal.

The Dawn newspaper quoted him as stating, “More than 35 people have been sent to the Timargarh hospital, and 15 critically injured people have been flown to Peshawar by a Pakistan Army helicopter.”

The death toll could increase further, according to rescuers, as 15 individuals are in serious condition.

The blast has been harshly denounced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has warned that those guilty will be found and punished.

“The Pakistani nation, law enforcement agencies, and our protectors will never allow such cowardly tactics of the enemy to succeed,” he tweeted.

He has directed that an investigation into the occurrence be conducted and that the critically injured people be flown by helicopter to other hospitals.
