At least five people were killed when a train collided with a microbus carrying passengers, sending it into a pond in Faridpur’s Munshibazar.
The tragic incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Tuesday at the Kachpura Rail Crossing in Gorda Union, as reported by Abdul Jalil, the district’s superintendent of police.
The Modhumoti Express, traveling from Rajshahi to Dhaka, crashed into a HiAce microbus that had entered the rail tracks in front of it, according to local witnesses. The train struck the microbus and dragged it for a considerable distance before it was propelled into a pond beside the tracks.
