A microbus and a CNG-run autorickshaw collided on the Sirajganj-Nalka local route in the Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj today, resulting in the deaths of at least five people.
Three of the dead were named as Md Nuruzzaman, Tarek Rahman, and Rashidul Islam, a CNG driver from Tarash upazila, and inhabitants of Raiganj upazila.
According to authorities, it was not possible to identify the identity of the other two fatalities very away.
Three persons were killed on the spot and two more were injured when the autorickshaw and microbus crashed at Kutirchar at lunchtime, according to Officer-in-Charge Rejaul Karim of the Kamarkhand Police Station.
While being transported to Shaheed M. Monsur Ali Medical College by police and firefighters, the two injured people passed away.
After the accident, traffic on the road was stopped for a while.
