The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved a Tk 37.5109 billion project to establish 50 technical training centers (TTCs) at the upazila level in Bangladesh.
The project aims to improve the skills of aspiring youths who are willing to go abroad by imparting necessary training. The project will cost Tk 140.7786 billion, with Tk 124.0944 billion coming from the government portion, Tk 6.1938 billion from the concerned organization’s own fund, and the rest as project assistance.
The approved 20 projects include land acquisition, construction of buildings, procurement of machinery, and furniture, and appointment of skilled trainers for the training centers.
Other projects approved include the Smallholder Agricultural Competitiveness Project (SACP), Important Rural Infrastructures Development of Gopalganj district, Climate and Disaster Resilient Small-Scale Water Resources Management Project (CDRSSWRMP), Shubhadda Khal reexcavation, Mohananda River Dredging and Construction of Rubber Dam under Chapainawabganj Sadar Upazila, construction of new buildings for Bagerhat Collectorate, modernization of Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy Children’s Park, and the construction of Borobhanga Bridge on the 25th kilometer of Sylhet-Sultanpur-Balaganj (Z-2013) Highway under Sylhet Division.
