A six-year-old student shot the teacher inside the school. A 30-year-old schoolteacher was seriously injured in the incident on Friday in Virginia.
According to police, the student accused of the incident at Richneck Elementary School, near the provincial capital Richmond, has been detained.
“This was no accident,” Virginia police said Saturday. The accused student fired specifically at the teacher.
Richneck Elementary School authorities claimed they had not noticed any abnormality in the student’s behavior earlier.
“We are all stunned,” said the school principal.
A total of 44,000 people died from firearms in America in 2021. Most of them are murders.
