A Noakhali court on Tuesday sentenced seven people, including son, for killing a woman and chopping her into five pieces in Char Jabbar union of Subarnachar upazila in 2020.
District and Sessions Judge’s Court Judge Nilufar Sultana gave the verdict in presenence of the convicts.
The death awardees are Humayun Kabir Huma,32, the woman’s son, Nirab,26, Noor Islam ,32, Kalam, 30, Suman,33, Hamid,28, and Ismail,30.
The court also fined them Tk 5,000 each, public prosecutor (pp) Advocate Gulzar Ahmed Jewel told reporters.
On October 6 in 2020, Humayun Kabir Humu premeditatedly killed his mother Noor Jahan Begum with his accomplices following a clash over property.
