In eight districts around the nation, the government has nominated new deputy commissioners.
According to a gazette notification released Friday night by the Ministry of Public Administration, of the eight DCs, seven are new appointments, and one was moved from Natore to Rajshahi.
Shamim Ahmed, the deputy commissioner of Natore, was sent to Rajshahi district.
Abu Naser Bhuiyan, personal assistant of state minister for youth and sports, was appointed as DC of Natore; Deputy Secretary of MoPA Mohammad Ashfaqul Haque Chowdhury became DC of Narail; Mohammad Marufur Rashid Khan, personal secretary of Dhaka South City Corporation mayor, was made DC of Madaripur; Shakil Ahmed, deputy secretary of energy and mineral resources division, was appointed Dinajpur DC; Mohammad Azizul Islam, a director at the Prime Minister’s Office was made DC of Meherpur; Deputy Secretary of commerce ministry SM Rafiqul Islam was named Jhenidah’s DC; and Deputy Secretary of Cabinet Division Urmi Binte Salam was named Moulvibazar DC.
The seven district commissioners who are currently in office are moved to other ministries and divisions.
