Ripon Kumer Sarker –
Pele did it, Ronaldo did it, Messi did it! They all scored more than 800 goals in their career. But have you ever questioned how they manage to do it?
It was not an easy job at all! To achieve this, you have to score 40 goals every year. And it must be done for a continuous period of 20 years without any interruption; you cannot be ill or injured.
Imagine you are injured or not 100 percent dedicated or lacking in hard work or not serious in any year and you scored less. You showed excuses such as maintaining your own life, family, friends, relatives, personal hobbies, traveling places, entertainment, etc.
Now you have to score more goals a year to achieve the 800 goals milestone. The task becomes even harder! Not an easy job, right?
A lot of players emerged in history and scored a lot of goals a year. But for how many years they could continue is the real question. Ronaldo, Messi, or Pele did not get it easily. They had to work hard, take care of themselves, observe a lot of matches, and practice for thousands of hours, days and nights, and years. They did it for so many years and now they are successful.
How about you? You may want to be successful! But how long do you work or practice or try to achieve your goal of milestones?
Success is not something that comes easy! It requires hard work, dedication, and persistence over a long period along with sacrifice. Sacrificing leisure time, social media activities, and even relationships are often needed to pursue our goals.
Many successful people have worked hard for years to achieve their goals, and their stories serve as inspiration for those who aspire to follow in their footsteps. Elon Musk, J.K. Rowling, Oprah Winfrey, Einstein, Obama, Tom Cruise, Michael Jackson, Tendulkar, and a very few people are on the list.
Few because not everyone does consistent long-time hard work which is the foundation of success. It is persistent effort and dedication that enables individuals to overcome challenges and reach their goals. This means showing up every day, putting in the work, and not giving up, even when faced with obstacles and setbacks. Whether it is starting a business, pursuing a career, or achieving a personal goal, success requires consistent effort over an extended period.
Successful individuals are not afraid to admit their mistakes and learn from them. They constantly seek new knowledge and skills, and they are always looking for ways to improve themselves and their work. Ronaldo still hits the gym often, Messi still practices with the ball, and Elon Musk still works days and nights even though they were already successful.
Why do they still work? Because they have even bigger dreams and they work continuously on a bigger scale as well.
Patience is also another crucial component of long-time hard work. Success is not always immediate, and it can take years of hard work before seeing significant results.
Messi won the World Cup almost at the last stage of his career, and Ronaldo won the EURO 13 years after the start of his career. During these years they had to face a lot of criticism and challenges for not having a major trophy. But they never gave up. They endured the criticisms with patience and continued to do what they are capable of and finally gifted with.
Long-time hard work requires a clear understanding of why you are pursuing your goals and what you hope to achieve. This sense of purpose motivates one to keep going, even when faced with challenges and setbacks.
Those who are willing to put in the effort and dedication will undoubtedly achieve their goals and reach their full potential. So, if you want to be successful in life, roll up your sleeves, put in the hard work, do not waste time, and never give up on your dreams.
