Bangladesh Bank will start issuing new banknotes with a Tk 1,000 value signed by its governor, Abdur Rouf Talukder, on Thursday (16 February).
According to a BB press statement from today, it would initially be issued from the central bank’s Motijheel office and then from further branches.
The new notes would have the same color, size, watermark, design, and other security features as the notes now in use. The existing notes would continue to be legitimate simultaneously as the newly printed notes, it noted.
