India’s Supreme Court today began employing artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing technologies for the first time in an experimental capacity to live-transcribe sessions.
The live transcription began in Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud’s courtroom.
The Constitution bench hearings will begin to be transcribed today and sent to attorneys for review before being posted on the Supreme Court website, reports Indian media.
The CJI stated that this will be done experimentally for a day or two to smooth out any transcribing kinks before becoming the norm.
