The High Court recommended that the trade ministry take the required actions to update and revise the current Company Act, 1994, in order to swiftly resolve issues surrounding ownership of private and public limited businesses.
Due to the lack of business courts, the HC bench of Justice Md Ashraful Kamal stated in its 232-page full-text judgment that the resolution of innumerable company issues was in limbo.
On August 25 of the previous year, the bench announced its decision in a dispute involving the ownership of Top Ten Fabrics and Tailors Limited that had been brought under the 1994 Company Act.
