As Law Minister Anisul Huq expressed his opinion in this regard, the government is prepared to suspend BNP Chairman Khaleda Zia’s prison sentence for an additional six months.
The law minister today told the media, “I have given the pertinent file with my view for prolonging the suspension of her term to the home ministry.”
Khaleda will not be able to travel overseas and will need to receive therapy at home, he continued.
The government freed the BNP leader after postponing her jail term in accordance with section 401 (1) of the Criminal Code of Procedure (CrPC), he also said.
