Shawkat Mahmud, vice president of the BNP, was dismissed from the organization.
According to a BNP press release issued by its assistant office secretary Taiful Islam and bearing his signature, he has been discharged from all positions, including primary membership, for failing to uphold the party’s rules.
Shawkat Mahmud was given a show-cause notice earlier in April of last year by the BNP due to allegations of his involvement in anti-party actions.
