In a match played yesterday (Tuesday) at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur, the Bangladesh U-15 eve football team made a winning debut in the SAFF U-15 Women’s tournament by crushing Bhutan by an 8-0 score.
Umehla Mara scored the opening goal for Bangladesh in the seventh minute. In the 21st minute of the game, Thuinuye scored the second goal to double the advantage. In the 28th minute, Bangladesh’s third goal was scored by Joynob Bibi Rita.
When Bangladesh’s Kanon Rani Bahadur scored the game’s fourth goal in the 50th minute, the hosts had a comfortable 3-0 lead going into the break. The hosts then came out on the pitch more prepared and added five more goals to their total.
With the help of a spectacular hat-trick by Sauravi Akanda Prity, Bangladesh defeated Bhutan 8-0. In the 68th and 73rd minutes of the game, Sauravi Akanda Prity joined the celebration by scoring the fifth and sixth goals for Bangladesh, respectively.
In the 76th minute, Umela Marma made the score 7-0 for Bangladesh, and in the 90+2nd minute of the game, Prity finished off her hat-trick to secure Bangladesh’s triumph. Nepal is the third team competing in the double league event alongside the hosts Bangladesh and Bhutan. The winning team will be the one at the top of the standings.
On November 5, Bangladesh will play their second game against Nepal, and on November 7 and November 11, respectively, they will play Bhutan and Nepal in return.
