Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged everyone to work together to uphold the ideology of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in order to create a Golden Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty.
On the eve of Bangladesh’s 52nd Independence Day, the prime minister made the request in an audio and video message broadcast on radio and television. She sent her warmest greetings to all Bangladeshis, both at home and abroad.
With a 23-year political struggle and a nine-month Liberation War led by the Father of the Nation, the people of the country achieved their victory and obtained an independent and sovereign Bangladesh, she said.
She also conveyed her salutations to the brave freedom fighters and expressed her deepest appreciation to the martyrs who gave their lives in defense of the nation’s independence.
According to the prime minister, Bangladesh is moving forward on the highways of development. She also promised that Bangladesh would be a smart Bangladesh.
