Korean actor Jeon Do-yeon starrer Kill Boksoon, wherein she essays the role of a single mother doubling up as a contract killer, is gaining popularity on OTT.
The action-thriller has a decent rating of 6.6/10 on IMDb. Jeon Do-yeon is immensely popular and her fans have given the movie great reviews. Kdramatist posted a clip showing Jeon Do-yeon in action and tweeted, “Naww she’s clearly enjoying this…that smile was just too cute and pretty you wouldn’t even think she’s in a killing spree here ahshshhsh”… Leslie Felperin in her review in The Guardian, describes the movie as a “fast-moving yarn about a woman balancing contract killing with raising a teenage daughter.”
Another fan, Nancy Wang Yuen tweeted: “So good. I think this is my version of John Wick.” Praising the actress for her performance, a netizen wrote, “#killboksoon is the movie of the year so far…the aura of a veteran really is unmatched, Jeon do yeon ooze class and charisma, you get to enjoy good action and acting, bravo”….
If you are a fan of Korean films and TV shows, go for this one, even if some viewers have said it is a bit too long at 137 minutes. But despite its length, the critics consensus at rottentomatoes.com place the action thriller at a healthy 80 per cent. The common view is that though “its impact is blunted somewhat by meandering length and some cheesy visual effects, Kill Boksoon remains a pleasing punch to the gut for action fans.” Go for it!
