As he did at the Islamic Republic of Iran Holy Quran Competition in Tehran the previous year, Saleh Ahmed Takrim of Bangladesh took first place in the 26th iteration of the Dubai International Quran Recitation Competition in 2023.
A pupil at the Qitab school in the Makrazu Faizil Quran Al Islami Dhaka, Hafiz Takrim, is the son of Hafiz Abdur Rahman.
After a trial conducted by judges from the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh, Takrim was selected to represent Bangladesh. Shaykh Shuyyaib Mohammad Al Azhari, one of the panelists, was a native of Bangladesh.
