Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, advisor to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, was apprehended by police this afternoon near Sylhet Osmani International Airport.
In a case brought under the Special Powers Act, he has been charged. A court recently issued an arrest order against him, according to Sylhet Metropolitan Police.
According to BNP sources, he flew from Dhaka to Sylhet to take part in a sit-in program organized by the party’s 1-9 No Ward unit and to attend an Iftar Mahfil hosted by the party’s Sylhet district unit.
