Metropolis Report-
A Dhaka court today extended the deadline for presenting the investigation report in a case filed in connection with the 2012 slayings of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi till May 22. The deadline for submitting the inquiry report has already been extended 97 times.
After Rab Assistant Superintendent of Police Khondoker Md Shafiqul Alam, also the case’s investigation officer, failed to submit the report today, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rashidul Alam issued the directive, according to court sources.
The same court requested Rab to provide the investigation report by today on March 5. Two separate courts had already voiced their displeasure with the investigation’s findings and the detectives’ inability to identify the murderers’ true motivations and apprehend them.
