In a press statement on Wednesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) honored Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as the organization’s March Player of the Month.
For the award, Shakib was included on the shortlist along with UAE native Asif Khan and New Zealander Kane Williamson.
However, the judges awarded the prize to Bangladesh’s unconventional all-rounder.
The Bangladeshi captain of the Twenty20 and Test teams has received this honor twice. It was July 2021 when he last won it.
The other Bangladeshi cricketer to receive the award is Mushfiqur Rahim (May 2021).
