In the early hours of this morning, a bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw collided head-on in the Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur, killing four people, including two children.
Uttam Roy, 40, and his wife Pallavi Roy, 32, were named the deceased. The names of the two children, who are between the ages of 10 and 12, have not yet been identified, said police.
According to witnesses and villagers, at 10:30 am on the Dinajpur-Phulbari highway, a Keya Paribahan bus headed for Phulbari collided head-on with a CNG-powered autorickshaw headed for Dinajpur.
The two children died immediately, and the four other injured people, including the auto-rickshaw driver, were brought to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital. In the hospital, two more people passed away, police said.
