The Awami League (AL) government wants free and fair elections in Bangladesh like the United Kingdom, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
During a visit by the foreign minister of the UK, James Cleverly, and his wife, Susannah Sparks, she stated this.
“We favor free and impartial elections. The country’s democracy is consistently upheld by my party. We have given the nation’s democracy a strong footing,” Foreign Minister Abdul Momen quoted her while briefing reporters.
The UK foreign minister discussed the impending general election in Bangladesh and expressed their desire for a free and fair election to take place, according to the foreign minister, who briefed the reporters at the hotel.
We’re dedicated to holding a fair election, PM Hasina responded. For a fair election to be held, everyone must participate, and I ask for their cooperation.
She claimed that in order to hold a fair election, the government had taken all necessary steps, including introducing a voter list with photos and transparent voting boxes so that no one could rig the results.
She said that, on the contrary, the BNP had created a voter list with 1.23 crore false voters to rig the election while it was in power.
