Early Monday morning, a speeding truck struck and killed two motorcyclists, injuring another in the Dholaikhal neighborhood of Gendaria, Dhaka.
The two fatalities were identified as Sabbir Hossain, 26, a worker at a furniture store, and Abul Khair, 30, a furniture salesman operating the motorcycle. They were from the districts of Faridpur and Gopalganj, respectively. Nayem, 17, was treated at a neighboring hospital for minor wounds.
According to Gendaria Police, the vehicle struck the motorcycle while the two were riding it home from their stores at around 3:30 in the morning.
Abul Khair and Sabbir Hossain passed away instantly, and their remains were sent to the mortuary of the Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (Mitford) for an autopsy. Efforts are being made to find the truck and detain its driver, said police.
