Ariful Haque Chowdhury, the leader of the BNP and mayor of Sylhet City, has formally opted not to run in the elections for the Sylhet City Corporation.
At a public gathering that started at 4:00 pm on Saturday at the Registrar Ground in Sylhet’s Bandarbazar, he made the announcement.
According to Ariful, he made the choice in accordance with the acting party chairman Tarique Rahman’s instructions.
