The Bangladesh Police have been asked to be more approachable by President Mohammed Shahabuddin. During Sunday’s courtesy visit by Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun to the president in Bangabhaban, he gave the directive.
According to a news statement issued by Police Headquarters, police must serve as friends of the public. The president additionally urged law enforcement to submit investigation findings as quickly as possible to resolve various cases.
Because of the advancement of digital technology, cybercrime is rising. To combat cybercrimes, he suggested that police officers receive technology training. The release further stated that Shahabuddin commended the police for reducing militancy and terrorism.
