Metropolis Report –
Medications for hypertension and diabetes are now accessible at community clinics across the nation as part of the government’s strategy to provide primary healthcare in rural areas.
According to a press release issued today, the decision was made by the community clinic drug list updating committee at a meeting on May 14, 2023.
Amlodipine 5 mg for hypertension and Metformin 500 mg for diabetes will both be included on the medicine list for community clinics, in accordance with the ruling.
Given that one in five persons in Bangladesh has hypertension, this is a significant step in combating the disease’s widespread incidence at the grassroots level.
