Maria Tripodi, the undersecretary of foreign affairs and international cooperation for Italy, has commended Bangladesh’s striking socio-economic development in recent years.
On Wednesday, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen met with her in her office in Rome, Italy, and gave her a briefing on Bangladesh’s development trajectory under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The MoU on bilateral consultation between the two foreign ministries was signed, and the first meeting of the political consultations between the two foreign secretaries was held earlier that day in Rome, to the pleasure of the Italian undersecretary.
The Italian undersecretary commended his country for taking a positive stance on the Rohingya problem and asked it to put more pressure on Myanmar to return its citizens.
The Bangladeshi foreign minister requested the Italian undersecretary’s visit to see the nation’s development and an unshakeable spirit.
