Metropolis Report-
Six ships filled with coal have departed from Indonesia for the 1,320MW coal-fired Payra Power Plant in Patuakhali, and it is anticipated that operations would resume on June 26.
One of the power plant’s two units’ operation was put on hold at 12:15 pm on June 4, while the other unit has been shut down since May 25.
The plant needs at least three lac tonnes of coal every month and is anticipated to receive an uninterrupted supply going forward, provided that the price of the coal is paid.
The power plant’s first unit began operating on January 10, 2020, while the second unit did so on August 26 of the same year.
