After a three-day official visit to Switzerland, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came back home from Geneva. The premier and her entourage arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1:55 am on Saturday on a routine Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
On June 14 and 15, Hasina attended the “World of Work Summit: Social Justice for All” in the Swiss city. Along with meeting the presidents of South Africa, Malta, the UNHCR’s Flippo Grandi, Prince Rahim Aga Khan, the Swiss Confederation’s Alain Berset, and the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) Gilbert F Houngbo, she also had two separate meetings with them.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the improvement of knowledge and skills between Bangladesh and Switzerland was signed following the meeting with Swiss President Berset.
She attended “A Talk at the WEF” on June 15 and then met Prof. Klaus Schwab, the organization’s founder, at the WEF office. She also spoke at a World Economic Forum (WEF) event on “New Economy and Society in Smart Bangladesh.”
