With an overall index score of 43.8 out of 100, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) classified Dhaka as the 7th least livable city in the world.

With a stability score of 50, healthcare and culture and environment ratings of 41.7 and 40.5, education sector scores of 75, and infrastructure scores of 26.8, the city has a lot of opportunity for growth.

In both the 2019 and 2018 rankings, Dhaka was the third and second least livable city in the entire globe.

The Covid-19 pandemic has improved living standards in cities throughout the world, according to the Global Livability Index.

The livability rankings of cities in the Asia-Pacific region, including Dhaka, have significantly improved.

The top-ranking cities in the index include Melbourne, Sydney, Vienna, and Copenhagen.

However, Damascus, Syria, has been rated as the least livable city for more than ten years.
