Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk Claim to Be Up for a Cage Fight

Metropolis Desk-

For two of the most influential billionaires in the tech sector, business rivalry appears to be insufficient. Now, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg claim they want a cage battle to settle their differences.

Musk, the owner of Twitter and the CEO of Tesla, recently stated that he would be “up for a cage fight” with Meta’s CEO Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg responded to Musk’s tweet on Wednesday by uploading a screenshot of it on Instagram with the comment, “Send Me Location.”

In response, Musk used the hashtag “Vegas Octagon” to refer to the Las Vegas venue where the Ultimate Fighting Championship is held in response to a tweet about the fight from Alex Heath, editor of the tech news website Verge.

In a different tweet, he continued, “I have this awesome technique that I call ‘The Walrus,’ where I lie on top of my opponent and do nothing.

Meta has been reached by CNN for comment. The company’s spokeswoman told Verge that “the [Instagram] story speaks for itself.”

It’s still unclear if Musk and Zuckerberg are joking or serious.

Zuckerberg, but the head of Meta trains in the Brazilian martial art of jiu-jitsu and took home gold and silver in a competition in May.

According to odds compiled by a sports betting website called Oddspedia from bookies including Bovada, Bet Online, and Ladbrokes, Zuckerberg has an 83% chance of winning the fight.

Paddy Power, a bookmaker, is wagering that the match will never take place but that both men will have an equal chance of winning if it does.

A representative for the Irish company stated in a statement that “with a little luck, they’ll both knock some sense into each other” if the fight happens.

Before Musk became the world’s richest man, the two had previously competed for a high position on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

They got into a highly public argument in 2017 on the direction of artificial intelligence.

Musk had already issued numerous cautionary statements about the risks posed by AI, calling it a potential existential threat to the human species. On the other hand, Zuckerberg adopted a considerably more upbeat attitude.

At the time, he was labeled as a “pretty irresponsible” “naysayer” who drew “doomsday scenarios” during a Facebook Live show.

Shortly after, Musk tweeted in response, saying: “I’ve spoken with Mark about this. His knowledge of the topic is rather limited.

In 2020, Musk dethroned Zuckerberg from third place on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index before quickly surpassing him to become the world’s richest man.

The chairman of the French luxury goods company LVMH (LVMHF), Bernard Arnault, briefly deposed him from the top position in December, but he quickly reclaimed it in May. Zuckerberg is now ranked tenth.
