Reduced taxes and a new pricing mechanism would cause the price of cardiac stents in Bangladesh to decrease starting on September 1 from Tk84,800 to Tk64,754.
Abbott Laboratories’ Xience Prime and Xpedition stents’ base costs would be decreased, according to an agreement between Abbott Laboratories and Boston Scientific.
Even in the absence of tax reductions, the maximum selling price will drop to Tk1.81 lakh.
Without lowering taxes, the price of Boston Scientific’s Promus Primer will also be decreased to Tk74,411.
In order to modify the maximum retail price, the DGDA set up a 1.42 markup in 2017.
