The Prime Minister was paid a visit by UN Under-Secretaries General Jean-Pierre Lacroix and Catherine Pollard at Gono Bhaban on Sunday.

They talked about topics like climate change and UN peacekeeping missions. Lacroix and Pollard commended Bangladesh’s peacekeepers for their commitment to and professionalism in upholding peace.

With 7,500 men and women working in nine operations throughout the world, Bangladesh is the nation that supplies the most troops to UN peacekeeping missions.

Pollard praised the prime minister for Bangladesh’s commitment to the trust fund for sexual exploitation and abuse.

Hasina underscored Bangladesh’s commitment to women’s security, increasing involvement in UN peacekeeping, and its zero-tolerance stance against sexual exploitation and abuse.

She also stressed Bangladesh’s vulnerability to climate change and its implementation of mitigation and adaptation measures using its resources.
