Remittances to the nation increased quickly in the 23 days leading up to the Eid festival, reaching US$ 1.79 billion.
Data from the Bangladesh Bank show that remitters sent $1.69 billion in May and $1.68 billion in April. The most $291 million in remittances entered the nation through Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. from June 1 to June 23.
Premier Bank, a private commercial lender, received the third-highest amount of $114 million, followed by the state-owned Agrani Bank with $115 million.
