Fire Extinguished on Jhalakathi Oil Tanker

After nearly 10 hours, the fire that started aboard an oil tanker in the Sugandha River in Jhalakathi has been put out.

Around 5:30 am on Tuesday, numerous firefighting units put out the blaze, according to Jhalakathi Fire Service and Civil Defense.

According to Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), the explosion happened around 6:30 pm on Monday when the crew members were unloading gasoline from the tanker.

Only two days earlier, on Saturday, a tanker named Sagar Nandini-2 exploded near the Rajapur village on the southern bank of the River Sugandha close to the district headquarters, leaving four people dead and four injured.
