An important meeting titled “The European Union and the Government of Bangladesh in Partnership for Good Nutrition through Good Governance” was conducted in Dhaka by representatives of the EU and the GoB.
The meeting, themed “The European Union and the Government of Bangladesh in Partnership for Good Nutrition through Good Governance,” was attended by both governmental and non-governmental organizations and was held in a hotel in Dhaka.
The goal of the Ministry of Farm, according to Agriculture Minister Dr. Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, is to create a self-sufficient and sustainable agricultural system by boosting productivity, modernizing farm marketing, and using new technology.
Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office M. Tofazzel Hossain Miah underlined the necessity for Bangladesh’s government to lead the way in ensuring nutrition security by having a strong political will and making clear promises to end malnutrition.
Three-panel discussions made up the event’s format: one on mainstreaming nutrition into planning, funding, and execution, and the other two on producing and consuming nutrient-dense food.
The EU and the Government of Bangladesh have worked together on FNS initiatives for many years, and the present Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) Programme is a component of that effort.
