Metropolis Desk-

Within a month, the nation will open a third tea auction center in Panchagarh, a northwest district that borders India. The enthusiasm for growing tea has reached a height among farmers in the plains of Panchagarh and Thakurgaon, where it is becoming more and more common.

The Panchagarh auction center will save money on transportation for tea growers in Bangladesh’s northern area. In the beginning, the auction center will function as a virtual platform before progressively evolving into a full-fledged auction center.

Increased employment and a more solid economic foundation have resulted from the growth of small and large-scale tea cultivation in the area.

12,079 acres in Panchagarh district and 1,457 acres in Thakurgaon were utilized for tea cultivation during the previous fiscal year. In the fiscal year 2022–2023, Panchagarh district produced 9,02,74,632 kg of green tea leaves, compared to 1,09,71,757 kg in Thakurgaon.

Panchagarh now contains nine large tea gardens, up from one in the years 2005–2006. There will be 15,000 employed tea garden employees in 2022–2023, up from 1,475 in 2005–2006.
