According to Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rouf Talukder, a dual currency Taka-Rupee card will be made available in September of this year to enable travelers to make payments both at home and in India.
At the Le Meridien Dhaka introduction of the Indian Rupee (INR) settlement of bilateral trade between Bangladesh and India, he added, “We are in the process of launching our national card.”
Travelers are currently required to purchase US dollars before leaving for India and change them to rupees once they arrive in the neighboring nation. They can cut their losses from exchange rate fluctuations in half by using the card.
