Metropolis Desk-

Due to the severe rain that resulted in landslides and flash floods, twenty-one people have died and thousands of people have had to leave their homes in South Korea. According to the country’s Yonhap News Agency, nine people were hurt in the rain and ten more were missing.

Sixteen of the fatalities were reported in North Gyeongsang province, which is located on the Korean Peninsula’s eastern coast. Landslides killed the majority of people there. Two individuals perished on Friday in the city of Nonsan in the South Chungcheong Province when a landslide caused their building to collapse, according to Yonhap.

More than 1,000 individuals in South Korea were compelled to leave their houses and find temporary refuge on Saturday, according to Yonhap. Additionally, there are power disruptions in 8,300 homes across four regions.

According to the South Korean news agency, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo ordered authorities to evacuate people living in landslide-prone areas and to conduct rescue operations.
