Metropolis Report-
In response to recent attacks on its sit-in programs, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has begun a public gathering at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.
On condition of preventing any convicted person’s speech from being aired or published, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) permitted the BNP to hold the gathering.
At the ward level, the governing Awami League has also organized processions.
Members of the BNP have said that they will no longer request police permission to hold political events and will instead peacefully host democratic gatherings.
The BNP is hosting simultaneous public demonstrations in every district and city across the nation, and other parties are also planning similar events.
The recent political bloodshed in Dhaka has caused the nation to fear the outbreak of new unrest.
