According to the additional director general at the health directorate, the government intends to launch a trial of a potential dengue vaccine soon.
In a recent meeting, the National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) approved the concept. The effectiveness of the vaccine is being debated, according to the director of the health department.
Only two dengue vaccines, Denvaxia (Sanofi Pasteur) and Qdenga (Takeda) have international approval for usage. In 20 countries, Denvaxia has been granted a license and is advised for those with a confirmed history of dengue infection who are nine to 45 years old.
Brazilian regulators, the European Commission, and Indonesian authorities have all given their approval for the use of Qdenga in patients four years of age and older.
Numerous more dengue vaccines are being created or are undergoing initial clinical testing in various nations.
