Canadian TikToker Hospitalized After Sipping Too Much Water in Viral Trend Challenge

Metropolis Desk-

After drinking four liters of water every day for 12 days as part of a trending fitness challenge, a TikToker in Canada was admitted to the hospital. Participants in the 75 Hard Challenge must consume four liters of water every day for 75 days. It also entails reading 10 pages each day, engaging in two 45-minute workouts per day, adhering to a regimented diet without alcohol or “cheat meals,” and taking a daily progress snapshot.

The challenge, which was initially established by YouTuber Andy Frisella, was discussed in a video posted to TikTok on Monday by Michelle Fairburn. She said she believed she had water poisoning, which may happen if you drink “more than three to four liters of water in a few hours.”

“I believe that I have water poisoning.” Ms. Fairburn declared, “I don’t feel good at all.

On the twelfth day of her challenge, she admitted that she hadn’t felt well when she went to bed the previous evening and had gotten up numerous times during the night to use the restroom. She claimed she had been “on the toilet all morning,” couldn’t eat, felt weak, and was sick.

She explained, “I’m doing the 75 Hard, so I’m drinking a lot of water. “I have no idea what to do,”

The doctor informed her that she had a serious salt shortage following a series of tests. She was instructed to drink less water than 0.5 liters per day rather than the excessive 4 liters per day.

According to the Mayo Clinic, severe sodium deficiency, also known as hyponatremia, can be fatal if left untreated.

A sodium deficit can be lethal. I’m heading to the hospital right away, and when they check everything, they may be able to gradually raise my salt level. He says I need to drink less than half a liter of water every day, but I still intend to complete the 75 Hard Challenge and I won’t give up. She said in the second video, “I cannot believe this is truly occurring.

Notably, Andy Frisella, a podcaster and the CEO of a supplement firm developed the exercise regimen in 2019. He refers to it as “an Ironman for your brain.”

Before beginning 75 HARDTM or any other fitness program, you should speak with your doctor or other healthcare provider to make sure it is appropriate for your needs. If your doctor or other health care practitioner advises against it, don’t start 75 HARDTM, the website recommends.
