Deposits in Bangladesh Bank experienced the highest monthly growth in the last fiscal year and the second-highest in the country’s banking history in June.
This increase was attributed to higher interest rates for depositors and the highest remittances in the outgoing fiscal year.
The central bank’s injection of new money into the market contributed to the increase in deposits, which is beneficial for the banking sector, especially as many banks face a liquidity crunch.
Inflation has been increasing, and customer confidence in the banking sector is returning, but not equally in all banks.
The central bank’s injection of new money is expected to eventually be added to banks.
