Metropolis Desk-
China’s KFL Group plans to establish a router manufacturing plant in Bangladesh to produce affordable, technology-enabled routers with IPv6 technology.
The company is willing to invest Tk 1.0 billion in the project, partnering with local firm Next G Limited. Bangladesh has taken initiatives to use IPv6 technology for secure and high-speed digital communication.
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has formed a study group to launch the new system.
Industry insiders argue that over 80% of Wi-Fi routers in Bangladesh still use IPv4 technology, making it difficult to import IPv6-enabled routers due to difficulties in opening local factories and the US dollar shortage.
