Following a 12-year hiatus, the Ramsagor Express train on the Bonarpara-Panchagarh route has reopened.
At a ceremony held at Bonarpara Junction railway station in Gaibandha, Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan declared the re-inauguration.
It was challenging for passengers when the train was suspended in 2010, two years after it had begun operation.
The Railway Department was made a separate ministry by the prime minister, a first for the government, to modernize the railroad industry.
The eight districts of Rangpur have received special attention from Sheikh Hasina, who is attempting to address residents’ issues.
