Tomorrow am, Bangladesh Railway will begin a special train trial run on the Mawa-Bhanga line over the Padma Bridge.
Shiraj ud Doula Khan, senior information officer for the Railways Ministry, told BSS that the train will depart from Kamalapur Railway Station at 8:45 a.m. and arrive in Bhanga at 11:54 a.m.
There will be additional authorities on board, including Secretary of the Ministry of Railways Dr. Mohammad Humayun Kabir and Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan.
Afzal Hossain, Project Director of the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project, informed BSS today that the trial run of the special train from Mawa to Bhanga via the Padma Multipurpose Bridge is anticipated to take place on Thursday.
He claimed that a train had previously tested the Padma Bridge rail link between Bhanga in Faridpur and the Padma Bridge viaduct in Shariatpur.
“The project will be finished by the end of June 2024. From Mawa to Bhanga, we have already finished 99 percent of the job. The train link’s building is progressing quickly, Afzal continued.
According to the project data, he claimed that Bangladesh Railway is working to build a 169 km rail line from the capital to Jashore as part of the fast-track project, spending Taka 39,246.79 crore on it. Exim Bank of China is lending Taka 21,036.70 crore for the project.
