Metropolis Report –
The latest biopic “Mujib- The Making of a Nation” by renowned Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal was premiered on September 13 at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival, garnering an enthusiastic reception from the audience.
“I’m excited to premiere the movie at this esteemed festival. The tale of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his efforts to found the nation of Bangladesh will undoubtedly strike a chord with individuals and groups all around the world. It has been a privilege to be able to share this stirring account of the Making of a Nation, according to Benegal, who was unable to attend the screening.
“I’m brimming with emotions at this screening of ‘Mujib – The Making of a Nation,’ our Bangabandhu – under whose leadership we gained a free nation,” Bangladesh Information Minister Hasan Mahmud said. I’m appreciative of how the teams from both nations depicted his journey, his unfathomable devotion, and his supreme sacrifice on behalf of the nation and its citizens. Shyam Benegal, who won’t be at the screening, is deeply missed.
It’s a proud occasion for us to be at the TIFF screening showing the movie about the father of our nation, according to Nuzhat Yasmin, managing director of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation. Thank you to the film’s cast and crew for their tireless efforts. We are unable to adequately explain how moved we are by the response today.
The managing director of the National Film Development Corporation of India, Prithul Kumar, predicted that “this film about the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh will surely be loved in Bangladesh and will also touch everyone’s heart as the film travels all over the world.”
“The research, the attention to detail to look like Mujib, is evident on the screen,” says Arifin Shuvoo, who plays the main role. I might not be able to express in words how it feels to watch a movie in a theater full of people. It is a privilege to portray Bangabandhu in this outstanding biopic and to be present to see the reception in person. As he always did, may Mujib continue to inspire people around the world and touch our hearts.
It has been a wonderful honor to portray our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the Father of our Nation, in the movie, according to Nusraat Faria, who was also present at the screening. My long-held goal of working with Shyam Benegal, sir, has now come true. The movie has done well, and it is very gratifying to see the love and support it is getting.
