Metropolis Report-
Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League, has given the BNP a 36-day deadline to abandon its course of violent politics and disorder.
If they are not fixed during this time, the Awami League leader forewarned, people will rebel against the BNP. He added that the Awami League is unconcerned about sanctions.
At a ‘peace and development’ rally on Monday in Azompur, Uttara, Obaidul Quader made these comments. The Awami League’s Dhaka City North chapter organized it.
The election period will start on November 1st. Therefore, there are 36 days till the start of that period.
Obaidul Quader, who is also the minister of road transportation and bridges, declared that “if BNP comes with arms then those hands would be broken and if they come with fire then those hands would be burned.”
He questioned how the BNP could issue a 36-hour deadline if its leaders and activists were unable to organize a movement to free BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in just 36 minutes.
